How does DTF printing work?

DTF (Direct-to-Film) printing is an advanced textile decorating technique where a design is printed onto a special film using DTF ink, coated with hot-melt DTF powder, and then transferred onto a garment using heat and pressure from a heat transfer machine.

DTF ink is used to create image and color and DTF powder acts as adhesive layer. Heat transfer machine is used to apply precise temperature and pressure, permanently activating the adhesive (DTF powder) and pressing the ink (DTF ink) onto the fabric. The high heat and pressure activate the adhesive, bonding the entire design to the garment’s fibers.

What makes the DTF printer so cost effective?
