UV DTF Stickers are a practical choice when you want colorful decals on mugs, bottles, phone cases, gift boxes, metal tags, or plastic packaging without direct printing on each finished item. The image is printed on special ab Film, cured by UV light, then transferred onto a clean surface by hand pressure.
They work best on smooth, hard materials such as glass, plastic, metal, ceramic, acrylic, and sealed wood. Rough wood, fabric, rubber, and soft silicone are not ideal because the adhesive layer cannot sit flat. To make UV DTF Stickers, you need to design your artwork, print it on adhesive film using a UV printer, laminate the design, and apply it to your surface.
What You Need Before Printing UV DTF Sticker?
Core Equipment and Consumables

- UV DTF Printer: Die HOLDWIN-620 Pro UV is suitable for 600 mm wide UV DTF stickers, crystal labels, cup decals, packaging labels, and personalized product decoration. Its W+CMYK+V output helps create color, white ink, and varnish effects in one workflow.
- UV DTF A/B Film: A film carries the printed design during printing. B film is used for transfer and final application on the product surface.
- UV Tinte: CMYK builds the color image, white ink improves cover on dark or transparent surfaces, and varnish adds gloss and a slight raised texture.
- Crystal Label Cutting Plotter: Die HOLDWIN-GH 720 cuts UV DTF layered films with adhesive, white/CMYK ink, and varnish, supporting 720 mm max material width and 600 mm cutting width.
- RIP / Design Software: Use it to arrange artwork, set print size, control the white ink layer, add varnish, and choose the print mode.
- Cleaning Tools: Alcohol wipes, a lint-free cloth, and a squeegee or scraper card help remove dust, oil, and bubbles.
How to Make UV DTF Stickers Step by Step?
Step 1: Design Pattern
Start with the specific use case in mind. A cup decal, product logo, cosmetic label, phone case graphic, and gift box mark do not need the same artwork style. A cup graphic can use bolder shapes, a packaging label may need sharper text and cleaner edges, while a tiny USB drive logo needs more blank space around the design.
Build the artwork with clear edges and avoid hairline strokes. If the sticker will go on a transparent or dark surface, add a white layer under the color layer. If the surface needs a premium look, add a varnish layer on selected parts, such as the logo outline or main icon. For UV DTF stickers used on retail packaging, a light varnish effect often looks better than full-surface gloss.
Step 2: Print on AB Film
Load the A film into the printer and send the file through the RIP software. Set the color layer, white layer, varnish layer, pass mode, and film width. On the HOLDWIN-620 Pro UV, the 600 mm width is highly practical for gang printing. You can place many small logos, cup decals, warning labels, or gift stickers across one roll instead of printing one item at a time.
Step 3: Cut into the Required Shape
Once the printing and laminating processes are complete, feed the processed AB film roll into the HOLDWIN GH-720 Vinyl Cutter. Use the cutter’s precise contour tracking system to accurately slice the printed graphics into their required individual shapes or sheet sizes.
Using a dedicated cutter ensures clean, professional edges and allows for efficient, high-volume separation of your gang-printed decals before they are distributed or applied.
Equipment Note: Die HOLDWIN GH-720 is designed to handle high-precision vinyl and film cutting, ensuring the intricate borders of your UV DTF stickers remain perfectly intact.
Step 4: Apply to Any Surface
Vorbereitung: Clean the object thoroughly before sticking. Dust, oil, water, and fingerprints are common reasons for poor adhesion. Use alcohol and a lint-free cloth, then wait until the surface is completely dry.
Peeling & Placement: Carefully separate the transfer film. For flat items, place the film down from the center and push outward. For curved surfaces like cups or bottles, fix the middle first, then roll the film slowly to both sides. Once the film touches the surface, do not keep lifting and moving it—UV DTF stickers are not made for repeated repositioning.
Veredelung: Press the sticker firmly with a scraper card, spending extra time on corners, thin strokes, and small separate parts. Peel the top film off slowly at a low angle. Finally, check the edges, color, gloss, and bubbles, pressing around the design with a clean cloth. The finished label will look like a flawless, direct-to-object print.
Häufig gestellte Fragen:
Smooth hard surfaces work best, including glass, plastic, metal, ceramic, acrylic, and sealed wood. Always clean the surface before application.
No. The sticker is transferred by hand pressure after printing and film processing. A scraper card helps the design bond to the surface.
