1) What is the advantage of 8 print heads over 4 or 6 heads?
An increase in the number of heads translates to a greater number of nozzles operating concurrently across the print width, thereby enhancing hourly output. 8 heads also provide greater nozzle redundancy — if some nozzles in one head underperform, the others compensate, reducing the impact of partial clogs on print quality.
2) What is a wide-format DTF printer and who needs one?
A wide-format DTF printer has a print width of 1200mm or more, allowing multiple designs to be printed side by side on a single pass. It is suited for large commercial print shops, transfer wholesalers, and factories producing high volumes of gang sheets daily where cost-per-transfer and output speed are critical business metrics.
3) Can DTF print white ink?
Yes — white ink is actually a core feature of every DTF printer, not an optional add-on. In DTF printing, white ink is printed as a base layer underneath the CMYK colors. This opaque white foundation allows full-color designs to appear vivid and accurate on black, navy, dark red, and any other dark or colored fabric. Without the white layer, colors would look faded, dull, or completely invisible on dark textiles. This is one of the biggest advantages DTF has over DTG printing.
