PRODUCT DETAILS

How DTG Printing Works?

DTG printing use a specialized inkjet printer to print graphics directly on cloth.  The printer applies water-based inks to the garment with precision, similar to how a home inkjet printer works. DTG printing process always follows three key stages: pre-treatment, printing, and curing. irst, pre-treatment is applied—either by hand spraying or using an automated machine (ideal for scaling)—to ensure DTG inks adhere evenly to the garment fibers, enhancing vibrancy and wash durability. Next, the tshirt printer digitally applies the design. For dark items, a white ink underbase is printed first, followed by CMYK colors to create high-resolution, full-color designs directly onto the fabric. Finally, the curing process permanently bonds the ink using heat, often via a heat press for entry-level models or a conveyor dryer for industrial direct to garment printers, guaranteeing long-lasting print quality.

DTG Printer

  • It can print at the same time (different patterns can be used), and it can also be printed at single station or alternately at double stations.
  • High-precision finishing integrated frame, more stable operation
  • The trolley is anti-collision and equipped with humidification device, which has better protection for the print head.
  • Standby sleep system, standby timing cycle cleaning function
  • Intelligent control of white ink circulation and stirring prevents ink sedimentation.

DTG vs Screen Printing

For a small business focused on unique, high-quality custom apparel, Direct-to-Garment (DTG) printing is the recommended option, as it handles complex, multi-color designs in one go and is ideal for small batches and on-demand printing.

DTG printing’s strength lies in its ability to produce highly detailed, photorealistic prints using high-resolution digital files (like PNGs with transparent backgrounds), whereas screen printing is better suited for bulk orders and simpler, bold designs using vector files (AI or EPS). In DTG there are generally no minimum order quantities (MOQ), making it cost-effective for one-offs, prototypes, and personalized items.

Applications

DTG works best on 100% cotton or cotton-blend fabrics.
